Chuelia and Mee Moua Vang have been married for 50 years. They have 5 children, 4 sons , 1 daughter and 18 grandchildren.

Close friends and relatives who knew Chuelia and Mee looked up to them as role models before they became Christians. They were always seeking to serve others before their own needs. The couple showed selflessness and taught their kids genuine love as God has provided for them. They love generously and give generously. They did not pick and choose who they wanted to serve, but served all who were willing to learn and those who thought they were undeserving of God’s love and mercy. They saw everyone in the community as children of God and treated them with equality.

Thus the East Side Saint Paul Hmong Baptist Mission grew in numbers and in 2010 became known as Followers of Christ Hmong Baptist Church. Chuelia formerly known as Nay Vang got a calling to become a pastor in 1992 and was ordained to become a Pastor by Pastor Tong Zoo Vang. Pastor Chuelia is the Senior Pastor and founder of Followers Of Christ Hmong Baptist Church. He has served God and his community on the East Side of Saint Paul, MN for the past 28 years. Pastor Chuelia is now retired in 2021 but is still an active Advisor for the church. Chuelia was missioned out from the mother church “First Hmong Baptist Church” in 1993. In 1993 he founded and started his mission to the East Side Saint Paul Community. The couple along with a few families started the mission on the East Side of Saint Paul. The mission was named “East Side Hmong Baptist Mission” and later on in 2010 they renamed the church to “Followers of Christ Hmong Baptist Church”. Followers of Christ Hmong Baptist Church have been serving the Hmong community in the East Side Saint Paul area for the past 28 years. The mission of the church still continues to serve the community by providing the word of God to people around the neighboring areas of East Side Saint Paul. Chuelia’s main goal is to live out the word of God by fulfilling his calling as a; son, brother, husband, father, friend, and pastor to whoever cross-paths with him in this lifetime. He is a light in the darkness in this community and sowing seeds to raise future leaders to guide people to hear and learn about the good news, the gospel of Jesus.
